3 pages from the guide: the cover, the contents (75 questions in 7 sections) and one complete question with its answer, code and interview tips.
Java interviews now regularly continue into the cloud: how does your Spring Boot app get credentials without keys, why does a Lambda cold start hurt, what happens when an SQS message is processed twice, and why can a private subnet not reach the database? This guide answers 75 questions in seven sections: IAM and security, compute, storage with S3 in depth, databases, messaging and integration, networking, and operations with the AWS SDK for Java v2. Code samples use SDK v2, with IAM policy JSON, CLI commands and CloudFormation where they fit.
75 questions in 7 sections, 75 code examples in a 104-page PDF (2026 edition).

A self-paced data engineering program from foundations to job-ready skills: SQL, Python, ETL, Airflow and projects.

Say the quick answer aloud first, then open the explanation and check what you missed. Read the policy JSON and CloudFormation examples line by line, and rehearse the design questions (three-tier VPC, choosing compute, idempotent consumers) in your own words. The code is illustrative: adapt names and versions to your project.
SQS, SNS, EventBridge, S3 events and Lambda retries are all at-least-once, so the same message will occasionally arrive twice. Make the handler idempotent: use a natural business key with an upsert, or record each message id in a dedupe table with a conditional write (attribute_not_exists) and skip duplicates. The cleanest form puts the dedupe record and the business change in one transaction.
