3 pages from the guide: the cover, the contents (60 questions in 7 sections) and one complete question with its answer, code and interview tips.
JPA is in almost every Spring Boot project, and its traps (N+1 queries, LazyInitializationException, transactions that silently do nothing) are favourite interview topics. This guide covers Jakarta Persistence 3.2 and Hibernate 7 on Spring Boot 4: the persistence context, mapping done right, fetching and performance, queries from JPQL to Jakarta Data, Spring Data repositories in depth, locking and transactions, and running JPA in production.
60 questions in 7 sections, 60 code examples and 5 diagrams in a 57-page PDF (2026 edition).

A 52-page print-friendly guide to the Spring Boot annotations you actually use, with copyable code and interview questions.

Turn on SQL logging in a small project and reproduce the N+1 and lazy-loading examples yourself. Then learn the transactions section well enough to explain propagation without notes.
N+1: one query loads N parents, then accessing a lazy association on each runs N more queries. Detect it by counting statements (Hibernate statistics, SQL logging, datasource-proxy assertions in tests). Fix it with a JOIN FETCH query, an `@EntityGraph`, or batch fetching (@BatchSize / hibernate.default_batch_fetch_size), which loads lazy associations for many parents with IN (...) queries.
