3 pages from the guide: the cover, the contents (50 questions in 5 sections) and one complete question with its answer, code and interview tips.
Design rounds ask you to name a pattern, show it in modern Java and say where the JDK or Spring uses it. This guide answers 50 questions in five sections: creational patterns, structural patterns, two sections of behavioural patterns, and design judgement. Each answer gives the quick answer, a compact example with records, sealed interfaces or lambdas where they help, the trade-offs, and a JDK or Spring example. The Java programs are run on JDK 25 and the output shown is what they printed.
50 questions in 5 sections, 49 code examples in a 79-page PDF (2026 edition).

Read the quick answer and say it aloud, then run the program and predict its output first. For each pattern, name one place in the JDK or Spring where it appears, and finish with the scenario questions without looking.
Spring wraps a bean in a proxy that applies advice (@Transactional, @Cacheable, @Async) and then delegates to the real bean. The proxy is a JDK dynamic proxy when the bean has interfaces, otherwise a CGLIB subclass; Spring Boot defaults to CGLIB (spring.aop.proxy-target-class=true). A call made as this.method() inside the bean never goes through the proxy, so the advice is skipped.
