"Solve this with streams" is one of the most common requests in Java interviews today. This guide solves 75 Stream API problems the way an interviewer wants to see them: filtering and searching, map and flatMap, sorting and ranking, every major collector including groupingBy and partitioningBy, the classic employee-dataset questions, real-world data pipelines, and modern features from takeWhile to Gatherers. Every snippet was run and shows its real output.
75 questions in 7 sections, 75 code examples and 6 diagrams in a 66-page PDF (2026 edition).

Write each solution yourself in an IDE before reading it, then compare the output. Practise the employee-dataset section until you can write groupingBy with a downstream collector from memory.
findFirst vs findAny?filter(...).findFirst() returns an Optional with the first matching element in encounter order. findAny may return any match and is only faster for parallel streams, where it doesn't have to respect order. On a sequential stream they behave the same in practice, but only findFirst guarantees it.
