Claude Code cannot watch a video, but it can read a Whisper transcript, write an edit list or an ffmpeg script from it, and write Remotion code for animated graphics. This guide teaches that method step by step: how it works, setup, reading media with ffprobe, then four workflows (talking-head cleanup, captions, Shorts and Reels clips, Remotion graphics), limits and legal basics, a capstone project and a cheat sheet. The ffmpeg and ffprobe commands were run on short test clips with a development build in October 2026; the Whisper and Remotion commands come from their official documentation and were not run for this guide.

Work through the chapters in order and do the Try it exercise at the end of each lesson. Set up ffmpeg, a Whisper tool and, if you want animated graphics, a Remotion project in chapter 2, then copy the prompts and scripts into your own project, changing file names and thresholds. Always work on copies, test on a short clip first, and keep the cheat sheet open for the commands you use most.
Detect silences into a log, run a short Node script that turns the log into a filter_complex file (one trim and one atrim per speech segment, then concat), apply it with -/filter_complex, and check the new duration and re-detect silence. The same script shape works for an edit decision list.
It is a digital download (PDF). After payment it appears in your Library right away.
Checked against the official docs on 2026-10-26 (Claude Code CLI 2.1.310, Remotion 4.0.539, ffmpeg development build N-128100-gceb466cbcd-20261026); the ffmpeg and ffprobe commands were run on synthetic test clips, while the Whisper, Remotion and Claude Code settings steps were taken from the documentation and not run. These tools change quickly, so if a command or setting differs on your version, check the official documentation.
