3 pages from the guide: the cover, the contents (52 questions in 6 sections) and one complete question with its answer, code and interview tips.
Every team uses Git, and interviews now go past commit and push: merge or rebase, how to undo a bad push, how to recover lost work. This guide covers the object model and the three areas, branching, merging and rebasing, undoing and recovering work, remotes, tags and workflows, hooks, signing and large repositories, and Git in teams and CI pipelines for Java projects.
52 questions in 6 sections, 52 code examples and 5 diagrams in a 47-page PDF (2026 edition).

A complete DevOps learning resource with coded examples, command sheets and an 80+ title book bundle across AWS, Azure and GCP.

Try every command in a throwaway repository. Practise recovering a lost commit with reflog until you can do it without notes.
`git merge` joins two histories: if the target hasn't moved it just fast-forwards, otherwise it creates a merge commit with two parents, preserving exactly what happened. `git rebase` replays your commits one by one on top of another base, producing new commits (new hashes) and a linear history. Rebase for tidying your own unpublished branch; merge (or a hosting-site merge strategy) to integrate shared work. Rule: never rebase commits other people already have.
