3 pages from the guide: the cover, the contents (75 questions in 7 sections) and one complete question with its answer, code and interview tips.
Spring Security questions show up in almost every Spring Boot interview, and they quickly go beyond 'what is JWT'. Interviewers ask why a filter ran twice, why permitAll still returns 401, how refresh tokens are rotated, how scopes become authorities, or what is wrong with a given configuration. This guide answers 75 such questions for the current Spring Boot 3.x/4.x line: the filter chain and Authentication, the SecurityFilterChain bean and lambda DSL, password hashing and sessions, JWT validation and revocation, OAuth2 and OpenID Connect with Keycloak and Amazon Cognito examples, method security, and attacks, testing and production hardening.
75 questions in 7 sections, 75 code examples in a 96-page PDF (2026 edition).

A 52-page print-friendly guide to the Spring Boot annotations you actually use, with copyable code and interview questions.

Read one section at a time and answer each question out loud before opening the answer. Then take your own SecurityFilterChain and check it against the misconfiguration question and the deny-by-default question.
The chain has at least eight problems: CSRF disabled together with cookie login, a permissive CORS configuration with credentials, a broad permitAll ahead of the admin rule, hasRole("ROLE_ADMIN") (which current versions reject at startup), an open actuator, an open H2 console, frame protection turned off, and no anyRequest() rule. Individually they are common; together they let any website act as a logged-in user.
